Foreign trade turnover of goods in total and by countries in January-November 2018
A A AForeign trade turnover[1] in January – November 2018 according to exports at current prices amounted to PLN 868.3 bn, while imports amounted to PLN 881,4 bn. The negative balance reached the level of PLN 13.1 bn, while in the same period last year it was positive and amounted to PLN 8.1 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of the 2017, exports increased by 6.4%, and imports by 9.1%.
Foreign trade turnover expressed in US dollars and in EUR
Exports expressed in USD amounted to 242.8 bn USD while imports amounted to USD 246.4 bn (an increase in exports of 14.0% and in imports of 16.8%). The negative balance reached the level of USD 3.6 bn (in the corresponding period of the 2017, the positive balance amounted to USD 2.1 bn).
Exports expressed in EUR amounted to 204.3 bn while imports amounted to EUR 207.4 bn (an increase in exports of 7.1% and in imports of 9.7%). The negative balance reached the level of EUR 3.1 bn compared to positive balance EUR 1.9 bn in the same period in 2017.
Foreign trade turnover of goods in total and by groups of countries
Poland has the largest share in total exports with developed countries – 87.0% (of which EU 80.4), and imports – 65.6% (of which EU 58.4%), as against 86.8% (of which EU 80.1%) and 67.8% (of which EU 60.4%) in the corresponding period of the previous year. However, the smallest share was observed in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which in total exports amounted to 5.8%, and in imports – 9.1%, as against 5.7% and 7.8% in January – November 2017.
The negative balances were recorded with developing countries – minus PLN 161.2bn (minus USD 45.0 bn, minus EUR 37.9 bn) and with countries Central and Eastern Europe – minus PLN 29.7 bn (minus USD 8.2 bn, minus EUR 7.0 bn). The positive balances were obtained in turnover with developed countries PLN 177.9 bn (USD 49.7 bn, EUR 41.9 bn), of which EU countries a balance of PLN 183.2 bn (USD 51.2 bn, EUR 43.1 bn).
