Housing construction in the period of January-September 2016
A A AIn the period of nine months of 2016 there were more dwellings completed than the year before. The number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project and the number of dwellings in which construction has begun also increased.
According to preliminary data, in the period January-September of 2016, 112337 dwellings were completed, i.e. by 10.9% more compared with the same period of 2015, in which an increase was recorded by 1.2%. In the period of nine months of 2016 the number of dwellings for which building permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project amounted to 154349, i.e. by 11.8% more than in the corresponding period of 2015 (against an increase by 14.8% the year before). The number of dwellings in which construction has begun also increased to 133089, i.e. by 3.9% (against an increase by 11.8% the year before).
The highest share (49.3%) in the total number of dwellings completed was attributed to private investors who in the period January-September of 2016 constructed 55400 dwellings, i.e. by 4.1% less than the year before (against an increase by 4.3% last year). Compared to January-September of 2015, within this group of investors an increase was recorded in the number of dwellings for which building permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project - to 74227 dwellings, i.e. by 10.9% (against an increase by 13.6% the year before). The number of dwellings in which construction has begun also increased to 66752 dwellings, i.e. by 6.2% (against an increase by 2.9% last year).
Developers, in the period of nine months of 2016, completed 53379 dwellings (which constituted 47.5% of the total number of dwellings completed), i.e. by 32.2% more than in the corresponding period of 2015, when an increase was recorded by 2.8%. Investors who build for sale or rent received building permits for 75729 dwellings, i.e. by 10.2% more than the year before (when an increase was recorded by 17.1%). An increase was also recorded in the number of dwellings in which construction has begun to 63099 dwellings, i.e. by 0.5% (against an increase by 23.7% the year before).
Housing cooperatives in the period of nine months of 2016 completed 1770 dwellings against 1195 dwellings the year before. The number of dwellings in which construction has begun also increased to 1731 against 925 dwellings the year before. The number of dwellings for which building permits have been granted decreased to 1024 against 1033 dwellings the year before.
Other investors (municipal, public building society and company construction) in the period of nine months of 2016 completed 1788 dwellings against 1973 dwellings the year before, of which in municipal construction - 1049 dwellings were completed against 872 dwellings last year, in public building society construction – 646 dwellings against 800 dwellings and in company construction – 93 dwellings against 301 dwellings in the corresponding period of 2015. The number of dwellings for which building permits have been granted and in which construction has begun increased respectively - to 3369 dwellings against 1425 dwellings the year before and to 1507 dwellings against 1468 last year.
In the period of nine months of 2016, an increase in the number of dwellings completed was recorded in ten voivodships, including the most substantial one in Lubuskie – by 33.1%, Zachodniopomorskie – by 26.7%, Mazowieckie – by 24.8% and Dolnośląskie – by 24.4%. The number of dwellings completed in Podlaskie voivodship reminded on the same level as the year before.. A decrease in the number of dwellings completed was recorded in five voivodships, including the most substantial one in Łódzkie – by 9.6%, Pomorskie – by 7.8% and Podkarpackie – by 5.0%.
In the period of nine months of 2016, an increase in the number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project was recorded in thirteen voivodships, of which the highest in Opolskie - by 61.3%, Łódzkie – by 50.6% and Świętokrzyskie – by 48.7%. A decrease in the number of permits or registrations with a construction project was recorded in voivodships: Warmińsko-Mazurskie – by 19.9% and Podlaskie – by 18.9%. In Mazowieckie indices of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registred remained at the same level as the year before.
An increase in the number of dwellings in which construction has begun in the period of nine months of 2016 was recorded in twelve voivodships, of which the highest in Opolskie – by 32.6%, Kujawsko-Pomorskie – by 22.7% and Zachodniopomorskie – by 16.6%. A drop in the number of dwellings in which construction has begun was recorded in four voivodships: Małopolskie – by 13.4%, Lubelskie – by 6.9%, Warmińsko-Mazurskie – by 2.1% and Podlaskie – by 0.2%. Most of dwellings in which construction has begun were in Mazowieckie – 28372 dwellings, i.e. by – 9.2% more than the year before.
