Price indices of residential premises in the third quarter of 2023
Prices of residential premises in the third quarter of 2023, compared to the second quarter of 2023, increased by 4.5% with the price increase on the primary market (by 4.0%) and secondary market (by 5.0%). Compared to the corresponding quarter of 2022, prices of residential premises increased by 9.3% (of which on the primary market - by 9.8% and on the secondary market - by 8.8%).

Analysis of the situation non-financial enterprises with 10 or more persons employed that prepare balance sheet. Consumer prices in December 2023, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 6,2% (with an increase of prices of services – by 8,2% and goods – by 5,5%). As related to the previous month consumer prices incresed by 0,1% (of which services – by 0,8%, with a decrease of prices of goods – by 0,2%). Foreign trade turnover of goods in total and by countries in January-November 2023
Foreign trade turnover in January - November 2023 in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 1 488.6 bn, while in imports - PLN 1 438.0 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 50.6 bn, while in the same period of 2022 year was negative and amounted to PLN 79.6 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of last year exports decreased by 0.1%, and imports by 8.4%.

In January 2024, there an improvement in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -12.6[1] which was by 2.6 p.p. higher in relation to last month.

In January the assessments of general business climate indicator (both seasonally and non-seasonally adjusted) in most of presented kinds of activities are at a higher or similar level as compared to the ones presented in December. In all areas, the indicator is below the long-term mean . In majority of studied areas, month-to-month level of "diagnostic" as well as "forecasting" components improves or does not change.

Average paid employment and average gross wages and salaries in enterprise sector in December 2023
In December 2023, the average paid employment in the enterprise sector compared with December 2022 was lower by 0.1% and amounted to 6 495.3 thousand full-time equivalent employees. Compared to the previous month, the average paid employment was recorded at a similar level.
The average monthly wage and salary in the enterprise sector in December 2023 compared with December 2022 increased nominally by 9.6% and amounted to PLN 8 032.96 gross. Compared with November 2023, the average monthly gross wage and salary increased nominally by 4.7%.

According to preliminary data construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out domestically by construction enterprises employing more than 9 persons was in December 2023 by 14.0% higher than in the same period of 2022 (a decrease of 0.9% in the corresponding period of 2022) and by 28.7% higher compared to November 2023 (an increase of 17.2% in the corresponding period of 2022).

In December 2023 retail sales[1] at constant prices were by 2.3% lower than the year before (against an increase of 0.2% in December 2022). Compared with November 2023, an increase by 11.0% in retail sales was recorded. In the period of January-December[2] 2023 sales decreased y/y by 2.7% (in 2022 a growth of 5.0%).

Index numbers of sold production of industry in December 2023
In December 2023, sold production of industry was by 3.9% lower than in December 2022, when an increase was recorded by 1.0% as compared to the corresponding period of 2021, whereas in comparison with November 2023, it decreased by 9.8%. In the period January-December of 2023, sold production of industry was by 1.5% lower than in the corresponding period of 2022, which saw an increase by 10.2% as compared to the corresponding period of 2021.

Cattle population in December 2023 reached 6,435.5 thousand heads and was lower by 0.2% in comparison to December of last year. The decrease in the total number of cattle herd resulted from a decrease in the population of all heard age groups except cattle 2 years or over.

According to preliminary data, the population of pigs* in December 2023 was 9769.7 thousand heads showing an increase of 1.5% compared to the analogical period last year. The reduction in numbers occurred in one groups of pigs, in particular in the fattening pigs, where it was 2.1%.

Adult Education in 2022
In 2022, 54.0% of people in Poland aged 18-69 declared that they acquired knowledge in various ways. 48.3% of them (11.4 million people) learned informally from co-workers, friends, family members or on their own. Education in the school system or in higher education (formal education) covered 2.3 million people, i.e. 9.2% of the surveyed population.
