Adult Education in 2022

In 2022, 54.0% of people in Poland aged 18-69 declared that they acquired knowledge in various ways. 48.3% of them (11.4 million people) learned informally from co-workers, friends, family members or on their own. Education in the school system or in higher education (formal education) covered 2.3 million people, i.e. 9.2% of the surveyed population.
One in five persons aged 18-69 (5.6 million people) participated in courses, training and other forms of organised learning. Relatively more women than men and urban residents compared to rural population participated in all forms of educational activity. The exception was formal education which concentrated more rural than urban residents.
