According to preliminary data, the population of pigs in December 2025 was 9 225.2 thousand heads showing an increase of 1.6% compared to the analogical period last year. The increased in numbers occurred in all production-use groups except fattening pigs.

Cattle population in December 2025 reached 6 143.3 thousand heads and was lower by 0.8% compared to December of last year. The decrease in the total number of cattle herd resulted from a decrease in the population of almost all heard age groups except calves.

In December 2025 retail sales at constant prices were by 5.3% higher than the year before (against an increase of 1.9 in December 2024). Compared with November 2025, there was an increase by 12.5% in retail sales.

Procurement prices of basic agricultural products decreased in December 2025 both in comparison with the previous month (by 5.5%) and compared to the corresponding period of 2024 (by 10.9%).
