In February 2026 retail sales at constant prices were by 5.0% higher than the year before (against a decrease of 0.5% in February 2025). Compared with January 2026, there was a decrease by 5.6% in retail sales. In the period of January-February 2026 sales increased y/y by 3.8% (against an increase by 2.0% in the corresponding period of 2025).

In 2025 gross financial result of the surveyed non-financial enterprises was higher by 12.4% comparing to a year earlier. The economic and financial indicators improved. Investment outlays were higher by 3.2% than in the previous year (when there was a decrease by 7.8%).

In March 2026, general business climate indicators for most of presented types of activity point at deterioration or stabilisation of the economy. The most significant decline is noted in accommodation and food service activities section. A slight improvement is ob-served in construction, financial and insurance activities section as well as in wholesale trade.

Price indices of sold production of industry in 1996-2026

According to preliminary data, in February 2026 the prices of construction and assembly production increased compared to February 2025 (by 3.8%), and compared to January 2026, they remained at a level similar to those recorded in the previous month.

In February 2026, sold production of industry was by 1.5% higher than in February 2025 (when a decrease was recorded by 1.9%), whereas in comparison with January 2026, it increased by 2.7%. In the period January-February of 2026, sold production of industry was by 0.2% higher than in the corresponding period of 2025 (which saw a decrease by 0.8%).

In the period January–February 2026, 3.7% less dwellings were completed compared to the same period last year. The number of dwellings in which construction began also decreased (by 21.8%), whereas the number of dwellings for which permits were granted increased by 0.1%.

In February 2026, the average paid employment in the enterprise sector remained at a similar level as in January of this year and was 0.8% lower than a year earlier.
