In July and August 2024, 2.0 million tourists were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments located in coastal areas, and 8.7 million overnight stays were provided for them.

Consumer prices in October 2024, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 5,0% (with an increase of prices of services – by 6,7% and goods – by 4,3%).

Foreign trade turnover in January - September 2024 in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 1 122.7 bn, while in imports - PLN 1 109.7 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 13.0 bn, while in the same period of 2023 year amounted to PLN 39.6 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of last year exports decreased by 7.7%, and imports by 5.7%.

According to the flash estimate, gross domestic product (GDP) in volume terms seasonally unadjusted was higher by 2.7% in the 3rd quarter of 2024 year-to-year against 0.5% increase in the corresponding period of 2023.

In the third quarter of 2024, there were 85 341 registrations of enterprises recorded i.e. 1.0% less than in the corresponding period of previous year and 104 enterprises declared bankruptcy i.e. 19.5% more than in the third quarter of 2023.

In 2023, 195 firms conducted biotechnology activities, which constitutes an increase by 4.3% in comparison to the previous year. Biotechnology intramural expenditures incurred by firms amounted to PLN 2 382.2 million and increased by 22.0% on an annual basis. In 2023, 4 482 persons were employed in biotechnology in firms.

As at the end of October 2024 the REGON register included 5 286.9 thous. of national economy entities. The number of newly registered entities in October amounted to 32.3 thous., i.e. by 1.7% more than a month before.
