In the fourth quarter of 2023, the labour cost index increased by 1.9% compared to the third quarter of the same year, and compared to the fourth quarter of 2022, it increased by 12.8%.

In 2023 emergency rescue teams provided health care benefits in the occurrence place to less than 2.8 million of persons. Almost 4.0 million of persons received health care benefits in hospital emergency wards or admission rooms under the outpatient treatment while almost 2.1 million of persons received health care benefits in hospital emergency wards under the inpatient treatment.

As of the end of December 2023, 845.2 thousand entities of the national economy located in the border areas in Poland were entered in the REGON register. It constituted 16.4% of the total number of entities in Poland. In comparison with 2022, in the analysed zone the number of entities increased by 18.2 thousand, i.e. by 2.2% (in Poland by 3.1%).

Activity of art galleries in 2023

In 2023, 317 art galleries were operating in Poland, which organised 3.7 thousand exhibitions for 4.0 million visitors. In comparison to the previous year, the number of exhibitions increased by 5.2%, and the number of visitors – by 34.9%.

Retail sales index - March 2024

In March 2024 retail sales at constant prices were by 6.1% higher than the year before (against a decrease of 7.3% in March 2023). Compared with February 2024, an increase by 14.2% in retail sales was recorded. In the period of January-March 2024 sales increased y/y by 5.0% (against a decrease by 3.5% in corresponding period of 2023).
