Flash estimate of Gross Domestic Product in the third quarter of 2021

According to the flash estimate, gross domestic product (GDP) in volume terms seasonally unadjusted was higher by 5.1% in the 3rd quarter of 2021 year-to-year against 1.5% decrease in the corresponding period of 2020.

Consumer price indices in October 2021

Consumer prices in October 2021, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 6,8% (with an increase of prices of goods and services by 6,8% each). As related to the previous month consumer prices increased by 1,1% (of which goods by 1,3% and services by 0,3%).

Registrations and bankruptcies of enterprises in the third quarter of 2021

In the third quarter of 2021 were recorded 85 198 registrations of enterprises, i.e. 2.5% less than in the corresponding period of the previous year, and 79 bankruptcies (compared to 123 in the third quarter of 2020).

Tourist accommodation establishments in coastal areas in July and August 2021

In July and August 2021, 1.7 million tourists were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments located in coastal areas, and 8.6 million overnight stays were provided for them. Compared to the same period last year, the number of tourists as well as number of overnight stays was higher by 13.5% and 18.3%, respectively.

Retirement and other pensions in 2020

Presentation of changes concerning the number of beneficiaries, gross benefits, average gross benefit by type (retirement, disability pension, survivors' pensions), dynamics of observed changes and relation to average monthly wages - within the non-agricultural social security system (integration SII, MDN, MIA and MJ) as well as the individual farmers' insurance system (ASIF data).

Foreign trade turnover of goods in total and by countries in January-September 2021

Foreign trade turnover in January – September 2021 in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 942.9 bn, while in imports - PLN 934.7 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 8.2 bn, while in the same period of 2020 year amounted to PLN 29.9 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of 2020 exports increased by 24.4%, while imports by 28.4%.

Information on the size and directions of emigration for temporary stay from Poland between 2004-2020

Statisctics Poland presents annually an estimate of the number of Polish residents temporarily staying abroad (the stock of Polish immigrants in other countries). The first estimate, taking into account the years 2004-2006, was published in October 2007; the next - in the following years 2008-2020. The estimate presented below shows the number of emigrants from Poland temporarily staying abroad – as reported at the end of each year (in the period 2004-2005 and 2010-2020). Therefore, these data are not migration flows - the total number of departures (Poles leaving their homeland) in particular years, and as such cannot be summed up.

Financial instruments of non-financial enterprises in 2020

2,279 subjects participated in the study. Financial instruments in assets were shown by 2,164 enterprises for the amount of PLN 603.8 billion and financial instruments in liabilities were shown by 2,011 enterprises for the amount of PLN 578.6 billion. Derivatives in assets and liabilities were shown by 332 and 405 entities, respectively, with a value of PLN 9.1 billion and PLN 12.0 billion.

In October 2021, average paid employment in enterprise sector was higher by 0.5% y/y and amounted to 6351.1 thousand, while average wages and salaries were higher by 8.4% y/y and amounted to 5917.15 PLN (gross).

Consumer tendency - November 2021

In November 2021, there was a deterioration in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -23.3[1] which was by 5.5 p.p. lower in relation to last month.

Price index of construction and assembly production in the third quarter of 2021 as compared to the second quarter of 2021 increased by 1.7%.

Business tendency in manufacturing, construction, trade and services - November 2021

In most of presented kinds of activities general business climate indicator in November is at a lower level than in the previous month. In the majority of researched areas deterioration of “forecast” components has been reported, whereas “diagnostic” ones do not change. The most positive1 indicator is noted by two sections – financial and insurance activities as well as information and communication, while the most pessimistic one by entities representing accommodation and food service activities section.

Prices of agricultural products in October 2021

Procurement prices of basic agricultural products increased in October 2021 in comparison with the previous month (by 2.1%) as well as while compared to the corresponding month of last year (by 15.6%).

According to preliminary data, the prices of sold production of industry in October 2021 increased compared to September 2021 by 1.8 % and compared to that recorded in the corresponding month of the previous year - by 11.8%.

Index numbers of sold production of industry in October 2021

In October 2021, sold production of industry was by 7.8% higher than in October 2020, when an increase was recorded by 1.0% as compared to the previous year, whereas in comparison with September 2021, it increased by 2.3%. In the period January-October of 2021, sold production of industry was by 14.9% higher than in the corresponding period of 2020, which saw a decrease by 2.7%.

Structure of wages and salaries by occupations in October 2020

In October 2020, the average monthly total gross wage and salary for employees in entities of the national economy with 10 or more employed persons amounted to PLN 5 748.24. It was 22.2% higher than the median wage and salary.

Price indices of construction and assembly production in October 2021

According to preliminary data, in October 2021 the prices of construction and assembly production in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year increased by 5.5%, and in comparison with September 2021 - by 0.8%.

Residential construction in the period of January-October 2021

In the period from January till the end of October 2021, there were more dwellings completed than the year before. The number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project as well as dwellings in which construction has begun also increased.

Financial results of non-financial enterprises in January-September of 2021

In January-September of 2021 financial results of the surveyed non-financial enterprises were higher than those obtained a year earlier. Also, the economic and financial indicators have significantly improved. Investment outlays were higher by 8.5% than those recorded in January-September of 2020 (when there was a decrease by 7.2%).

Financial results of investment funds in the first half of 2021

The value of total assets collected by investment funds at the end of June 2021 amounted to 348.9 billion PLN (increase by 16.8% compared to the end of June of the previous year). The value of funds' investments increased to 281.3 billion PLN (by 5.7%).

Index numbers of construction and assembly production in October 2021

According to preliminary data, in October 2021, construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out domestically by construction enterprises employing more than 9 persons was by 4.2% higher than in the corresponding period of 2020 (a decrease of 5.8% the year before) and by 0.4% higher compared to September 2021 (an increase of 0.5% the year before). In October 2021 retail sales[1] at constant prices were by 6.9% higher than the year before (against a decrease of 2.3% in October 2020). Compared with September 2021 retail sales increased by 3.6%. In the period of January-October[2] 2021 retail sales y/y were by 7.4% higher (against a decrease of 3.0% in 2020).

In October 2021 entities having 50 or more persons employed and participating in the monthly survey of production of industrial products, reported production of 390 163 face masks used in medicine and 5 154 574 other protective face masks.

Non-financial enterprises established in 2020

Among the non-financial enterprises declaring the start of operations in 2020, 161 048 units remained active by 2021 i.e. 67.1%. The highest survival rate after the first year of activity was recorded for entities in professional, scientific and technical activities section (79.6%).

Price index of investment outlays for 3th quarters of 2021

Economic activity of enterprises with foreign capital in 2020

In 2020, 23.2 thousand enterprises with foreign capital conducted economic activity in Poland and the value of their foreign capital amounted to 215.6 billion PLN. More than half (54.1%) of the foreign capital was located in entities with 250 and more persons employed. The largest number of entities operated in trade; repair of motor vehicles (26.7%) and the largest amount of foreign capital (38.1%) was involved in manufacturing.

The growth of investment outlays in national economy decreased in comparison with the previous year by 4.3%. The gross value of fixed assets increased (in constant prices) by 3.6%.

Seasonally unadjusted gross domestic product (GDP) in the 3rd quarter of 2021 was higher by 5.3% year-on-year comparison against the decrease of 1.5 % in the correspording quarter of 2020 (constant average prices of the previous year).

Forest accounts in Poland in 2019

According to the methodology of the European Forest Accounts (EFA), gross output of forestry and logging in Poland in 2019 amounted to PLN 22.9 billion, which was a fall in comparison with the previous year by 4.0%. At the end of 2019, the area of forest land in Poland equalled 9462.9 thousand hectares and grew within a year by 3.4 thousand hectares. As a result of classification changes of non-forest land into forest land, there were 1.2 thousand hectares of forest land more, and almost 0.5 thousand hectares less of forest land due to deforestation.

Compared to 2015, the number of these units increased by 94.
