Flash estimate of the consumer price index in September 2021

Consumer prices according to the flash estimate in September 2021, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 5,8% (price index 105,8), and as related to the previous month increased by 0,6% (price index 100,6).

Revised estimate of gross domestic product for the year 2020

According to the revised estimate, gross domestic product (GDP) in 2020 decreased by 2.5% to 2019. The result has increased compared to the previously published on 22th April 2021 by 0.2 percentage points.

Polish athletes at the XVI Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games

During the XVI Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Polish players won 7 gold, 6 silver and 12 bronze medals. Poland took 17th place in the medal standings.

Accommodation establishments as of 31 July 2021 and their occupancy in the first half of 2021

In the first half of 2021, 5.3 million tourists were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments and 14.9 million overnight stays were provided for them. Compared to the same period of 2020, this was lower by 27.8% and 23.4% respectively. Compared to the first half of 2020, the occupancy rate of accommodation establishments also decreased from 23.8% to 19.9%

Price indices of residential premises in the second quarter of 2021

Prices of residential premises in the second quarter of 2021, compared to the first quarter of 2021, increased by 3.1% (of which on the primary market - by 2.5% and on the secondary market - by 3.6%). Compared to the corresponding quarter of 2020, prices of residential premises increased by 8.3% (of which on the primary market - by 8.6% and on the secondary market - by 8.3%).

Financial results of non-financial enterprises in I–VI 2021

In the publication there are presented statistical data on revenues, costs and financial results as well as current assets, total equity and liabilities and investment outlays of non-financial enterprises with 10 and more persons employed that keep books of accounts. Furthermore it presents basic economic indicators of these entities, such as, net and gross turnover profitability indicators and financial liquidity indicators.

Occupancy of tourist accommodation establishments in Poland in June and July 2021

In June 2021, 2.3 million tourists were accommodated tourist accommodation establish-ments, who were provided with 6.5 million overnight stays. Compared to June 2020, this was an increase of 71.4% and 78.6% respectively. An increase in the number of tourists, compared to the same month of the previous year, was also recorded in July 2021, when the number of overnight tourists was 32.5% higher, while the number of overnight stays provided was 32.0% higher.

The analytical publication devoted to the characteristic of the main populations and processes taking place on the Polish labour market. The year 2020 was special due to the global COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This also had a significant impact on the labour market, which, like the lens, concentrates the effects of major changes taking place in both the economy and social life.

Financial results of co-operative savings and credit unions in 2020

The gross financial result of co-operative savings and credit unions in 2020 amounted to PLN 14.0 million and the net financial result PLN minus 4.3 million. The value of memberships deposits at the end of 2020 amounted to PLN 8.9 billion, and the value of member's loans and advances – PLN 6.5 billion.

Foreign trade turnover of goods in total and by countries in January-August 2021

Foreign trade turnover in January – August 2021 in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 829.5 bn, while in imports - PLN 821.2 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 8.3 bn, while in the same period of 2020 year amounted to PLN 23.2 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of 2020 exports increased by 25.9%, while imports by 29.2%.

Consumer prices in September 2021, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 5,9% (with an increase of prices of services by 6,6% and goods by 5,6%). As related to the previous month consumer prices increased by 0,7% (of which services by 0,8% and goods by 0,6%).

Prices of agricultural products in September 2021

Procurement prices of basic agricultural products increased in September 2021 in comparison with the previous month (by 0.8%) as well as while compared to the corresponding month of last year (by 15.3%).

Consumer tendency - October 2021

In October 2021, there was a deterioration in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -17.8 which was by 4.8 p.p. lower in relation to last month.

In September 2021, sold production of industry was by 8.8% higher than in September 2020, when an increase was recorded by 5.7% as compared to the previous year, whereas in comparison with August 2021, it increased by 11.0%. In the period January-September of 2021, sold production of industry was by 15.5% higher than in the corresponding period of 2020, which saw a decrease by 3.2%

According to preliminary data, the prices of sold production of industry in September 2021 increased compared to August 2021 by 0.7% and compared to that recorded in the corresponding month of the previous year - by 10.2%.

According to preliminary data, in September 2021 the prices of construction and assembly production in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year increased by 4.9%, and in comparison with August 2021 - by 0.7%.

Residential construction in the period of January-September 2021

In the period of three quarters of 2021, there were more dwellings completed than the year before. The number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project as well as dwellings in which construction has begun also increased.

General government deficit and debt in 2020

Index numbers of construction and assembly production in September 2021

According to preliminary data, in September 2021, construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out domestically by construction enterprises employing more than 9 persons was by 4.3% higher than in the corresponding period of 2020 (a decrease of 9.8% the year before) and by 9.3% higher compared to August 2021 (an increase of 15.5% the year before).

Retail sales index - September 2021

In September 2021 retail sales1 at constant prices were by 5.1% higher than the year before (against an increase of 2.5% in September 2020). Compared with August 2021 retail sales decreased by 2.4%. In the period of January-September2 2021 retail sales y/y were by 7.3% higher (against a decrease of 3.1% in 2020).

Methodological report. Industrial production surveys

The purpose of the publication is to familiarize users with the area of survey on industrial production conducted by Statistics Poland and the information they can obtain on the basis thereof.

Financial results of non-financial enterprises for 2020 (balance sheet)

The value of assets (total equity and liabilities) of surveyed entities as of 31 December 2020 was 3 428.9 bn PLN (by 5.7% more comparing to the end of 2019), of which 60.0% were fixed assets and 39.9% were current assets. Total revenues and total costs were lower than in 2019 (by 1.4%). The net financial result amounted to 132.5 bn PLN (a decrease of 2.1% compared to 2019).

Non-financial enterprises by kind and place of economic activity in 2020

The number of non-financial enterprises increased by 2.3% y/y, amounting to 2 261.9 thousand entities in 2020. Microenterprises dominated in this sector. Trade units remained the largest group in population of non-financial enterprises, despite the decrease in their share from 30.4% in 2010 to 21.6% in 2020. About 1/5 of non-financial enterprises had their registered offices in Mazowieckie Voivodship.
