Prime Minister Donald Tusk appointed PhD Marek Cierpiał-Wolan, as of January 1, 2025, to the position of President of the Statistics Poland.

On 1 January 2025, Poland took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, as the first country of the Poland-Denmark-Cyprus trio. Statistics Poland, alongside other ministries and central offices, are involved in the work of the Presidency. For Statistics Poland, Poland's Presidency of the Council of the EU is primarily the Presidency of the Council Working Party on Statistics (CWPS).

How will electricity prices for households be included in the Consumer Price Index from January 2023? Due to the entry into force of the act on special solutions for the protection of electricity consumers in 2023 and the implementation of the measures under the so-called Solidarity Shield, from 1 January 2023, energy prices will be frozen at the 2022 level for households whose electricity consumption does not exceed the assumed limits or if the household is entitled to use the increased limits.
