Poverty in Poland in 2019 and 2020

This publication contains the most important, currently available data on the extent and social differentiation of poverty and privation in Poland and also shows the situation in our country in comparison to other European Union countries. The data presented are mainly for the years 2019-2020 and refer to both the period before the COVID-19 pandemic and the first year of its existence. The results presented in the publication come from annual household surveys carried out by the Statistics Poland, namely the Household Budget Survey and the European Survey of Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC). In case of information on the European Union Member States, data from the Eurostat database were used.

Consumer prices according to the flash estimate in December 2021, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 8,6% (price index 108,6), and as related to the previous month increased by 0,9% (price index 100,9).

Prices of residential premises in the third quarter of 2021,
compared to the second quarter of 2021, increased by 2.6%
(of which on the primary market - by 2.8% and on the
secondary market - by 2.5%). Compared to the
corresponding quarter of 2020, prices of residential
premises increased by 8.9% (of which on the primary
market - by 9.4% and on the secondary market - by 8.7%).

Employed persons and labour input on agricultural holdings in the period of 12 months – preliminary results of the Agricultural Census 2020

The results of the Agricultural Census 2020 compared with the results of the Agricultural Census 2010 indicate a decrease by ¼ in the number of employed persons working over a year on agricultural holdings in agricultural production recalculated into full-time workers (data on labour input expressed by Annual Work Unit – AWU).
