Within the Hungarian Presidency of the Visegrad Group which lasted from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office in cooperation with the statistical offices of Czechia, Poland and Slovakia has prepared the publication which narrates and illustrates the recovery from the shock caused by Covid-19 pandemic. The publication is based on Eurostat statistical indicator system following the pandemic to track the economic and social restoration in the European Union, including the V4.

Accidents at work in the first half of 2022 - preliminary data

27,900 persons injured in accidents at work were reported in the first half of 2022, by 2.6% more than in 2021. The number of injured persons per 1,000 employed persons decreased (the incidence rate) from 2.01 in the first half of 2021 to 1.89 in the first half of 2022.

The demand for labour in the second quarter of 2022

At the end of the second quarter of 2022, there were 149.3 thousand job vacancies in Poland, 4.5% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Over the year, the number of newly created jobs decreased (by 6.8%), whereas the number of jobs liquidated increased (by 12.6%). In the second quarter of 2022, there were 2.1 newly created jobs per liquidated job.
