According to preliminary data construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out domestically by construction enterprises employing more than 9 persons was in January 2020 by 6.5% higher than a year before (against an increase by 3.2% the year before) and by 57.3% lower compared with December 2019 (against a decrease by 61.2% the year before).


In comparison to January 2019 an increase in the value of construction and assembly production was recorded in entities whose basic type of activity were civil engineering works (17.0%) and performing specialised construction activities (10.7%). The value of construction and assembly was lower in entities dealing mainly with construction of buildings (4.0%).

Compared with December 2019, decreases in the value of works carried out were noted in all divisions of construction, i.e. in entities whose basic type of activity were civil engineering works by 71.1%, in whose basic type of activity was construction of buildings by 44.1% and in entities performing specialised construction activities by 43.6%.

Value of construction and assembly production including investment works in January 2020 was by 9.1% higher than in the corresponding period of 2019 (against an decrease by 1.9% in the year before), whereas works with a restoration character increased by 2.4% (an increase by 12.6% the year before).
