Paid employment, wages and salaries in the national economy in first quarter 2023

Basic information about employed persons, employees and their nominal and real wages and salaries.

Material output of construction: - residential buildings completed (number of dwellings and rooms, useful floor space, form of construction, building type, cubic volume, method of construction, average construction period); - non-residential buildings completed (number, cubic volume, useful floor space).

Working conditions in 2022

Risks arising from the work environment, strenuous work and mechanical factors associated with particularly dangerous machinery, benefits in respect of accidents at work and occupational diseases, the number of employees exposed to risk factors, occupational risk assessment of workstations.

Forestry in 2022

As of 31 December 2022, forest land area comprised 9476.9 thousand ha, with forest area amounting to 9274.8 thousand ha, which was 29.7% of the area of the country. In 2022, forest renewals covered 65.5 thousand ha and afforestation – 0.5 thousand ha. In 2022, in comparison with the previous year, a recorded increase (by 5.7%) in total removals amounted to 44646.7 thousand m3 and timber removals, a growth by 4.9%, equalled 42702.8 thousand m3.

Energy efficiency in Poland 2011-2021

Global and sector indicators of energy efficiency (70), their analysis, methodological notes, definitions of terms. Indicators constitute a tool for trend evaluation in the field of energy efficiency on macro scale as well as in individual areas of economy, enabling the evaluation of the effects of activities and programmes in terms of energy efficiency.

Municipal infrastructure – water supply and sewage system in 2022

In Poland in 2022 the length of the sewage network increased by 4.1 thousand km (by 2.4%), and the number of sewage connections to residential buildings by 128.8 thousand pcs (by 3.5%).

Environment in 2022

In 2022, there was’t no significant increase noticed in water withdrawal for the needs of the national economy and population and the amount of generated industrial and municipal wastewater (increase by approximately 1%) compared to the previous year. There was a reduction of emission of particulate pollutants from plants of significant nuisance to air quality by 9% and gaseous pollutants by 3%. There was an increase of the amount of total waste generated by 6% - there was an increse of industrial waste by 7% and a decline of municipal waste by 2%.

Production, employment, average monthly gross wages, prices indices, investment outlays, current assets, financial indicators, industrial enterprises by amount of average monthly gross wages and salaries and by profitability rate of net turnover.

Selected entrepreneurship indicators in 2017–2021

In the publication, the entities with different growth potential, such as high-growth, growth, stable, declining and rapidly declining, were distinguished from the population of non-financial enterprises with 10 or more persons employed, that keep books of accounts.

Education in the school year 2022/2023 (preliminary data)

In the 2022/23 school year, there were 22.5 thousand pre-primary establishments (0.3% more than in the 2021/22 school year) with a total of 1534.2 thousand children enrolled (respectively 4.2% more).

Financial results of investment fund companies in 2022

The value of total assets acumulated by investment fund companies at the end of 2022 amounted to PLN 2.7 billion which means decrease by 10.3% compared to the end of the previous year.

Employed persons in the national economy in Poland in January 2023

As at the last day of January 2023 in the national economy there were 15 043.4 thousand employed persons. The average age was 42.4 years, the median age was 42.0 years. The average age and median age of employed persons in the national economy were similar for men and women.

Quarterly information about labour market was compiled on the basis of generalised results of the representative Labour Force Survey (LFS), carried out in the 1st quarter of 2023, compared to the results of these surveys from the previous quarter and corresponding periods of 2022 and 2015. The study contains information about i.a. economic activity level of population by demographic and social characteristics, employed and economically inactive persons. The study takes into account the recalculated LFS results for the years 2015–2020, according to changes introduced from 2021 in the definitions of main categories of persons on the labour market (the applicable definitions are included in the publication Labour force survey in Poland).
