Foreign trade turnover in January - April 2023 in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 550.7 bn, while in imports - PLN 531.4 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 19.2 bn, while in the same period of 2022 year was negative and amounted to PLN 32.6 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of last year exports increased by 10.2%, while imports decreased by 0.2%.

Population ageing in Poland in the light of the results of the 2021 Census is another publication prepared on the basis of the results of the 2011 and the 2021. This thematic study presents the changes that have taken place over the past decade in terms of the state and structure of the population, with a particular focus on the elderly group.

Consumer prices in May 2023, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 13,0% (with an increase of prices of goods – by 13,3% and services – by 12,3%). As related to the previous month prices of both goods and services remained at the same level.

As of 31 December 2022, there were 1,223.6 thousand people enrolled in higher education institutions in Poland, by 5.5 thousand more than in 2021. 292.6 thousand graduates received diplomas in the 2021/22 academic year, by 4.8 thousand fewer than in 2020/21.

Poland's energy efficiency increased by 0.5% in 2021 compared to 2020. Between 2011 and 2021, the annual cumulative growth rate of energy efficiency amounted to 0.9%. Primary energy intensity of GDP decreased by an average of 2.6% per year during this period, while final energy intensity of GDP decreased by 1.5%. The fastest rate of energy efficiency improvement was observed in transport (by 2.3%).

In 2022, the sown area of cereals, potatoes and sugar beets decreased, while the area of crops of rape and turnip rape inreased. Compared to 2021, the production of field vegetables and tree friut decreased, and the production of berry fruit increased. In December 2022, there was an annual increase in the number of cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry in total.
