The number of non-financial enterprises increased by 2.3% y/y, amounting to 2 261.9 thousand entities in 2020. Microenterprises dominated in this sector. Trade units remained the largest group in population of non-financial enterprises, despite the decrease in their share from 30.4% in 2010 to 21.6% in 2020. About 1/5 of non-financial enterprises had their registered offices in Mazowieckie Voivodship.
In 2020, there were 2.3% more non-financial enterprises in Poland than in 2019 and 31.0% more than in 2010. Microenterprises (entities with up to 9 persons employed) constituted 97.0% of the entire sector of non-financial enterprises and their number increased by 2.3% compared to 2019
