Consumer prices in May 2023, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 13,0% (with an increase of prices of goods – by 13,3% and services – by 12,3%). As related to the previous month prices of both goods and services remained at the same level.

Foreign trade turnover in January - April 2023 in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 550.7 bn, while in imports - PLN 531.4 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 19.2 bn, while in the same period of 2022 year was negative and amounted to PLN 32.6 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of last year exports increased by 10.2%, while imports decreased by 0.2%.

In the first quarter of 2023, the financial results of cultural institutions increased compared to those obtained in the corresponding period of the previous year. Total revenues increased by 20.5% and investments outlays increased by 4.4% during this period.

In the first quarter of 2023, the producer prices for business services increased compared to the previous quarter by 3.5%. Compared to the first quarter of 2022 they increased by 9.2%.

14,300 persons injured in accidents at work were reported in the first quarter of the first quarter of 2023 (of which 40 persons while remote work), by 28,7% more than in the first quarter of 2022. The number of injured persons per 1,000 employed persons (the incidence rate) increased from 0.82 to 1.00. .

As at the end of May 2023 the REGON register included 5 054.0 thous. of national economy entities, i.e. by 0.3% more than a month before (3.4% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year).

At the end of the first quarter of 2023, there were 114.9 thousand job vacancies in Poland, 0.7% fewer, as compared with the fourth quarter of 2022. The job vacancy rate was 0.90%. The highest value of this rate was recorded in the Information and communication section (2.03%).

Assets (liabilities) of the surveyed cultural institutions as of 31 December 2022 amounted to PLN 23,334.9 million. Both total revenues and total costs were higher by 17.7% in comparison to 2021.
