Consumer tendency - July 2023

In July 2023, there was an improvement in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, syn-thetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -24.9 which was by 3.3 p.p. higher in relation to last month.

Consumer price indices in June 2023

Consumer prices in June 2023, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 11,5% (with an increase of prices of services – by 11,7% and goods – by 11,4%). As related to the previous month consumer prices remained at the same level (of which goods decreased – by 0,2% and the prices of services increased – by 0,6%).

Foreign trade turnover of goods in total and by countries in January-May 2023

Foreign trade turnover in January-May 2023 in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 687.0 bn, while in imports - PLN 662.4 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 24.6 bn, while in the same period of 2022 year was negative and amounted to PLN 37.6 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of last year exports increased by 8.1%, while imports decreased by 1.6%.

On July 13, 2023, we celebrate 105 years of the Statistics Poland!

Statistics Poland was established by the Rescript of the Regency Council of the Kingdom of Poland on July 13, 1918. Less than a year after regaining independence, the Legislative Sejm passed the Act on the organisation of administrative statistics on October 21, 1919. For 105 years, from the date of its creation, Statistics Poland - as the only Polish public institution - has not changed its name.

Activity of credit intermediation companies in 2022

Increase in the number of credits and loans granted was 14.7%. The survey covered 226 entities conducting credit intermediation activity and granting loans from own funds.
