Procurement prices of basic agricultural products decreased in May 2023 in comparison with the previous month (by 3.6%) as well as while compared to the corresponding period of the last year (by 4.6%).

In May 2023, average paid employment in the enterprise sector compared to May 2022 was higher by 0.4% y/y and amounted to 6517.7 thousand full-time equivalents. In comparison to the previous month average paid employment slightly decreased by 0.1%.

According to preliminary data, in 2022, the average paid employment in the national economy was 11.0 million full-time equivalent employees. There were 1.4% more of them compared with the previous year.

At the end of 2022, outpatient health care was carried out by 22.6 thousand outpatient departments and 3.5 thousand doctors and dentists practices providing services funded by public sources. During the year, 297.6 million doctors consultations and 33.2 million stomatological consultations were provided. Over 13% of total doctors consultations in primary health care were provided via telephone.

As of the end of 2022 7,638 public libraries and branches operated, which conducted 875 branches for children and youth and 805 library service points. Public libraries had 124.4 million volumes of collection, which was borrowed by 5.1 million library users.

Poland's energy efficiency increased by 0.5% in 2021 compared to 2020. Between 2011 and 2021, the annual cumulative growth rate of energy efficiency amounted to 0.9%. Primary energy intensity of GDP decreased by an average of 2.6% per year during this period, while final energy intensity of GDP decreased by 1.5%. The fastest rate of energy efficiency improvement was observed in transport (by 2.3%).

As of 31 December 2022, there were 1,223.6 thousand people enrolled in higher education institutions in Poland, by 5.5 thousand more than in 2021. 292.6 thousand graduates received diplomas in the 2021/22 academic year, by 4.8 thousand fewer than in 2020/21.
