According to the preliminary data, sold production of industry in constant prices (in enterprises employing more than 9 persons), in August of 2014, was by 1.9% lower than in the previous year (when an increase by 2.2% was recorded) and by 8.5% lower than in July of 2014. After eliminating the seasonal factors, sold production of industry reached the level higher by 0.7% than in the corresponding month of the previous year and by 1.2% lower than in July of 2014.

As compared to August of 2013, a decrease in sold production was reported in 19 (out of 34) industry divisions, among others, in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – by 18.6%, manufacture of beverages – by 11.6%, in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – by 7.2%, in mining of coal and lignite – by 6.6%, in manufacture of food products – by 4.7%, manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products – by 4.3%, manufacture of other non-metallic products – by 3.4%. An increase in sold production of industry, as compared to August of 2013, was recorded in 15 divisions, among others, in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products – by 15.4%, manufacture of furniture – by 11.2%, manufacture of machinery and equipment – by 4.8%, manufacture of electrical equipment – by 4.3%, manufacture of metal products – by 3.9%, manufacture of basic metals – by 3.0% and manufacture of paper and paper products – by 2.7%.

In the period January-August of 2014, sold production of industry was by 3.4% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year which saw a 0.8% increase.
