Short-term analysis of phenomena and processes taking place, among others, in the area of the labour market, wages and salaries, prices, basic areas of the national economy (agriculture, industry, construction, domestic market), transport and foreign trade, as well as the situation in selected countries of the world.

The quantity of production of selected industrial products manufactured by entities, in which the number of persons employed exceedies 49. The information relates to the production of finished products for sale, as well as for further processing inside the enterprise, produced from own and entrusted raw materials.

In February 2022, there was an improvement in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -27.7[1] which was by 1.5 p.p. higher in relation to last month.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, the number of the economically active persons aged 15–89 years comprised 17278 thousand, of which: 16780 thousand constituted employed per-sons, while 497 thousand – the unemployed. The population of economically inactive per-sons at the same age group amounted to 12529 thousand.

In January 2022 entities having 50 or more persons employed and participating in the monthly survey of production of industrial products, reported production of 31 029 622 face masks used in medicine and 12 223 099 other protective face masks.

At the end of 2021, there were 499070 entities of the national economy registered, i.e. by 5.0% more than a year before. In the total number of entities, natural persons conducting economic activity prevailed (54.8%). The majority of entities (19.5%) conducted professional, scientific and technical activities, however the largest increase as compared to 2020 was recorded in the communication and information section (by 11.3%).
