According to the EDP notification, in 2021 the general government deficit was 1,8% of GDP, while the general government debt amounted to 53,8 % of GDP.

Activity of enterprises having foregin entities in 2020

At the end of 2020, 1 880 enterprises in Poland (an increase as compared to 2019 by 1.7%) declared involvement in 4 030 foreign entities (an increase by 1.3% comparing to 2019) in the form of shares, branches or other forms. Majority of foreign entities were located in Germany, Czechia, Ukraine and Russia.

Border traffic and expenses made by foreigners in Poland and by Poles abroad in the 4th quarter of 2021

In 2021, the number of crossings of the Polish border amounted to 193.3 million persons. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, there was an increase in border traffic of foreigners by 3.2% and of Poles by 8.0%. The values of goods and services purchased in this period by foreigners in Poland and goods and services purchased by Poles abroad were higher than in 2020 by 3.8% and by 12.0% respectively.
