According to preliminary estimates, current expenditure on health care in 2024 amounted to PLN 293.6 billion (representing 8.1% of GDP). This was 47.0 billion PLN more than in 2023, which expenditures amounted to PLN 246.6 billion (preliminary data). An increase in expenditure was observed both in public and private spending.

Foreign trade turnover in 2024 according to final data in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 1 523.4 bn, while in imports - PLN 1 521.0 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 2.3 bn. In comparison to 2023 year exports decreased by 5.6%, and imports by 3.0%.

Emergency services in 2024

In 2024, fire brigades intervened in 551.7 thousand events. Interventions concerned 103.6 thousand fire events, 394.7 thousand local threats, and 53.4 thousand false alarms. 488 drowning accidents, of which 444 persons died, were reported to the Police. Water life rescue services carried out 1 903 rescue actions.
