Seasonally unadjusted gross domestic product (GDP) in the 3rd quarter of 2024 was higher by 2.7% year-on-year comparision against the increase of 0.5% in the corresponding quarter of 2023 (constant average prices of the previous year).

According to the preliminary results of the Polish Labour Force Survey, an increase in the activity rate of the population was observed in the third quarter of this year. The number of employed persons and the employment rate were higher than in the second quarter of this year, the number of unemployed persons and the unemployment rate also increased. On the other hand, the number of economically inactive persons decreased.

In October 2024 retail sales at constant prices were by 1.3% higher than the year before (against an increase of 2.8% in October 2023). Compared with September 2024, an increase by 7.8% in retail sales was recorded. In the period of January-October 2024 sales increased y/y by 2.4% (against a decrease by 2.6% in corresponding period of 2023).

In January-September of 2024 financial results of the surveyed non-financial enterprises were significantly lower comparing to those obtained a year earlier. The economic and financial indicators deteriorated. Investment outlays were lower by 7.5% than those recorded in January-September of 2023 (when there was an increase by 11.5%).

The matriculation examination is conducted as the end of post-primary school (until 2019 upper secondary school), and its results determines further education. It is taken by graduates of post-primary schools, including general secondary and technical secondary schools.
