The publication presents quantitative and qualitative analysis of construction activity presenting the most important aspects and main trends of observed phenomena regarding so-called results of construction, i.e. residential and non-residential buildings completed, with particular emphasis on dwellings. The issue of granted building permits is also described.

With regard to the results of construction the analysis takes into account data on the number and useful floor area of buildings and dwellings completed, the cubic volume and types of buildings, forms of construction, construction period and technologies used in the erection of residential buildings, the sanitary and technical installations which dwellings are fitted with, as well as the energy performance of new residential and non-residential buildings. The publication also contains information on the number of dwellings in which construction has begun.

The information presented in the study on granted building permits, concerning the number and useful floor area of buildings and dwellings, broken down by types of buildings, and in the case of dwellings also by forms of construction, may serve as an important element for forecasting trends in construction. The presentation of results also includes the legal basis for granting permits.
