In December 2022, average paid employment in the enterprise sector compared to December 2021 was higher by 2.2% y/y and amounted to 6504.7 thousand full-time equivalents. In comparison to the previous month average paid employment remained at a similar level (dynamics 100.0 %).

In January this year the assessments of general business climate indicator are at a higher level than in December last year in most of presented kinds of activities. In all areas it is below the long-term mean . In majority of researched areas “diagnostic” components improve, whereas in the case of “forecast” ones they differ depending on area of econo-my.

In January 2023, there was an improvement in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, syn-thetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -38.1 which was by 3.8 p.p. higher in relation to last month.

Foreign trade turnover in January - November 2022 in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 1 474.2 bn, while in imports - PLN 1 556.3 bn. The negative balance reached the level of PLN 82.1 bn, while in the same period of 2021 year was positive and amounted to PLN 5.5 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of 2021 exports increased by 22.7%, while imports by 30.1%.

Statistics Poland informs that the average annual consumer price index of energy carriers in 2022 as related to 2021 amounted to 132,5 (price increase of 32,5%).
