In October 2020 retail sales at constant prices were by 2.3% lower than the year before (against a growth of 4.6% in October 2019). Compared with September 2020 retail sales increased by 2.1%. In the period of January-October2 2020 retail sales y/y were by 3.0% lower (against a growth of 5.6% in 2019).

According to preliminary data construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out domestically by construction enterprises employing more than 9 persons was in October 2020 by 5.9% lower than a year before (against a decrease by 4.1% the year before) and by 0.4% higher compared with September 2020 (against a decrease by 3.8% the year before).

Financial results of non-financial enterprises in I-IX of 2020

In the period of ten months of 2020, there were more dwellings completed than the year before. The number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project and the number of dwellings in which construction has begun decreased.

Procurement prices of basic agricultural products increased in October 2020 as related to the previous month by 1.4%, while were still lower compared with the corresponding period of the previous year decreased - by 3.8%.

According to preliminary data in October 2020 the prices of construction and assembly production in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year increased by 2.5% and in comparison with September 2020 - by 0.3%.

In October 2020, sold production of industry was by 1.0% higher than in October 2019, when an increase was recorded by 3.7% as compared to the previous year, whereas in comparison with September 2020, it increased by 3.2%. In the period January-October of 2020, sold production of industry was by 2.7% lower than in the corresponding period of 2019, which saw a growth by 4.3%.

According to preliminary data in October 2020 the prices of sold production of industry decreased in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year by 0.4% but in comparison with September 2020 increased by 0.4%.

In each of presented kinds of activities general business climate indicator in November is at a lower level than in the previous month. Only in information and communication section the indicator is positive. Deterioration of “forecast” components is observed in all research areas, whereas worsening of “diagnostic” ones is reported in most areas.
