According to the flash estimate, gross domestic product (GDP) in volume terms seasonally unadjusted was lower by 1.2% in the 1st quarter of 2021 year-to-year against 2.0% increase in the corresponding period of 2020.

Gross domestic product in 2020, according to first estimate was PLN 2 323,9 mld (american: billion).

Annual indexation rate was 105.23 (increase by 5.23%).

In the first quarter of 2021, there were 84 223 registrations of enterprises recorded i.e. 0.1% more than in the corresponding period of previous year and 126 enterprises declared bankruptcy i.e. 11.3% less than in the corresponding period of previous year.

At the end of 2020, 71.5 thousand children deprived entirely or partly of their own family, were staying in foster care, of which 55.5 thousand children in family foster care and 16.0 thousand children in institutional foster care. The number of children staying in foster care decreased by 0.8% compared to 2019. The fall is related to children staying in institutional foster care.

In 2020, there were 194 theatres and music institutions operating in Poland. They presented 24.4 thousand performances with 4.5 million viewers. 389 premieres took place.

In 2020, there were 932 operating museums and museums branches visited by 16.6 million people. Museums in Poland organised 2.4 thousand regular exhibitions and 3.0 thousand temporary exhibitions (including 41 exhibitions from abroad).

In 2020, there were 307 operating art galleries (6.1% less in comparison to 2019). In Poland, art galleries have organised 2,377 exhibitions, visited by 2.1 million people.
