Free licences in Statistics Poland’s scientific journals and monographs

As of 1 January 2022, scientific journals and monographs published by Statistics Poland operate on the basis of Creative Commons free licences Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0).

This means that authors of articles published in Wiadomości Statystyczne. The Polish Statistician, Statistics in Transition new series and Przegląd Statystyczny. Statistical Review journals, as well as authors of monographs or chapters in monographs published in the Statistical News Library and Statistical Research Papers series, reserve all their authorship rights. The user of a given work may share the work (copy and disseminate it in any medium and format) and adapt it (remix it, change it and create new content on its basis for any purpose, including a commercial purpose), on the following conditions:

  • attribution – the material has to be approprietly attributed, a link to the licence has to be provided, and any changes, if made, have to be indicated. It can be done in any reasonable manner, but not in the way that would suggest the licensor endorses the user or his/her manner of using the material;
  • ShareAlike – if the material is remixed, transformed, or any new content is build upon the material, the user must distribute his/her contributions under the same licence as the original;
  • no additional restrictions – the user may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the licence permits.

The author grants the licence to the publisher through the statement submitted together with the work (new sample statements are available on the websites of Statistics Poland’s respective scientific journals).
