According to the flash estimate, gross domestic product (GDP) in volume terms seasonally unadjusted was higher by 10.9% in the 2nd quarter of 2021 year-to-year against 8.3% decrease in the corresponding period of 2020.

In the second quarter of 2021, there were 92 445 registrations of enterprises recorded i.e. 43.5% more than in the corresponding period of previous year and 84 enterprises declared bankruptcy i.e. 46.5% less than in the corresponding period of previous year.

In 2020, 87 debt collection entities were included in the study. The nominal total value of all debts serviced by these entities, as at the end of 2020, amounted to PLN 108,8 billion.

Foreign trade turnover in 2020 according to final data in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 1 062.5 bn, while in imports - PLN 1 015.4 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 47.2 bn, while in the same period of 2019 year amounted to PLN 5.1 bn.

In 2020, fire brigades intervened in 583.3 thousand events. Interventions concerned 128.8 thousand fire events, 413.9 thousand local threats, and 40.6 thousand false alarms. Police services intervened 483 times in the drowning accidents. 460 people died, including 48 women. Water life rescue services carried out 2 136 rescue actions.
