9 March – Statistics Poland’s Day

Polish Statistics Day was established by the Main Council of the Polish Statistical Association and the Committee of Statistics and Econometrics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the President of the Statistics Poland. The date is not accidental - it commemorates the first census in Poland adopted on 9 March, 1789 by the Four-Year Sejm.

The impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on selected elements of the labour market in Poland in the fourth quarter of 2022

In Poland, in the fourth quarter of 2022, the state of epidemic threat in connection with SARS-CoV-2 infections was still in force. Solutions were still in place to prevent and counter the spread of the said virus.
These solutions are also applicable to the labour market. Among them, for instance, is the possibility of working from outside a permanent workplace, that is remote work. The data presented in this publication were obtained from the Labour Demand Survey.

The demand for labour in the fourth quarter of 2022

At the end of the fourth quarter of 2022, there were 115.7 thousand job vacancies in Poland, 15.8% fewer than in the end of the fourth quarter of 2021. The job vacancy rate in the fourth quarter of 2022 was 0.92%. Both the number of newly created jobs and the number of liquidated jobs decreased on a year-over-year basis (by 21.3% and 14.3%, respectively).
