Border traffic and expenses made by foreigners in Poland and by Poles abroad in the 4th quarter of 2025
In the 4th quarter of 2025, there was an increase in the border traffic of foreigners by 1.7% and of Poles by 2.5%, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The values of goods and services purchased by foreigners in Poland and goods and services purchased by Poles abroad during this period were higher than in the 4th quarter of 2024 by 9.5% and 9.7% respectively.
In 2025, the number of crossings of the Polish border amounted to 291.9 million persons. There was an increase in border traffic of foreigners by 0.9% and an increase of Poles by 3.3%, compared to the previous year.
In the 4th quarter of 2025, the number of crossings of the Polish border amounted to 67.5 million. In the total number of crossings of the border, foreigners (non-residents) constituted 55.2% and Poles (residents) – 44.8%. The border traffic (from and to Poland) was higher by 1.4 million of crossings in relation to the same period in 2024. Compared to the previous quarter, the total number of crossings decreased by 21.1% (foreigners by 19.9% and Poles by 22.5%).
In the 4th quarter of 2025, 71.0% of all crossings concerned the land border of Poland with the European Union (EU) countries; 20.7% the border at airports, 7.8% external land border of the European Union and 0.5% sea border.
