Border traffic and expenses made by foreigners in Poland and by Poles abroad in the 1st quarter of 2025

In the 1st quarter of 2025, the border traffic of foreigners remained at the same level as the previous year, while that of Poles increased by 3.4% year-on-year. The values of goods and services purchased by foreigners in Poland and goods and services purchased by Poles abroad during this period were higher than in the 1st quarter of 2024 by 6.2% and 8.7% respectively.

In the 1st quarter of 2025, the number of crossings of the Polish border amounted to 62.2 million. In the total number of crossings of the border, foreigners (non-residents) constituted 56.4% and Poles (residents) - 43.6%. The border traffic (from and to Poland) was higher by 0.9 million of crossings in relation to the same period in 2024. Compared to the previous quarter, the total number of crossings decreased by 6.0% (foreigners by 4.3% and Poles by 8.0%).

In the 1st quarter of 2025, 73.9% of all crossings concerned the land border of Poland with the European Union (EU) countries; 18.3% the border at airports, 7.3% external land bor-der of the European Union and 0.5% sea border.
