Border traffic and expenses made by foreigners in Poland and by Poles abroad in the 4th quarter of 2024



In the 4th quarter of 2024, the border traffic of foreigners remained at the same level as the previous year, while that of Poles increased by 1.3% year-on-year. The values of goods and services purchased by foreigners in Poland and goods and services purchased by Poles abroad during this period were higher than in the 4th quarter of 2023 by 5.5% and 15.0% respectively.
In 2024, the number of crossings of the Polish border amounted to 286.4 million persons. There was a decrease in border traffic of foreigners by 0.6% and an increase of Poles by 1.9%, compared to the previous year.
In the 4th quarter of 2024, the number of crossings of the Polish border amounted to 66.1 million. In the total number of crossings of the border, foreigners (non-residents) constituted 55.4% and Poles (residents) – 44.6%. The border traffic (from and to Poland) was higher by 0.4 million of crossings in relation to the same period in 2023. Compared to the previous quarter, the total number of crossings decreased by 20.8% (foreigners by 20.0% and Poles by 21.7%).
