Mortality and deaths by causes in 2020
Demographic situation in Poland in 2020 was shaped by COVID-19 pandemic. It was mainly affected by the number of deaths, which was the highest in several years. Number of deaths in 2020 exceeded by more than 100 thousand the annual average from last 50 years (477 thousand deaths compared to 364 thousand). Moreover mortality rate per 100 thousand population reached the highest value from 1951.

In 2020, the length of the sewage system in Poland
increased by over 4.7 thousand km (by 2.9 %), and
the number of sewage connections to residential
buildings by 108.8 thousand pcs (by 3.1 %).

Information regarding the labour market in the first quarter of 2021 (preliminary data)
The results of the labour force survey (LFS) presenting the average data for the quarter indicate that in the first quarter of 2021, economically active persons accounted for 57.3% of the population aged 15-89 years.
