Just like in the previous month, indicators released in May show overall stabilisation of the economic situation.

In May 2024, there was a deterioration in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, syn-thetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -13.8 which was by 2.3 p.p. lower in relation to last month.

In April 2024, the average paid employment in the enterprise sector compared with April 2023 was lower by 0.4% and amounted to 6 499.4 thousand full-time equivalent employees. The average monthly wage and salary in the enterprise sector in April 2024 compared with April 2023 increased nominally by 11.3% and amounted to PLN 8 271.99 gross.

According to preliminary data, the prices of sold production of industry in April 2024 increased compared to March 2024 by – 0.2%, and decreased compared to the corresponding month of the previous year – by 8.6%.

In April 2024, sold production of industry was by 7.9% higher than in April 2023, when a decrease was recorded by 6.4% as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, whereas in comparison with March 2024, it decreased by 2.2%. In the period January-April of 2024, sold production of industry was by 0.9% higher than in the corresponding period of 2023, which saw a decrease by 2.2% as compared to the corresponding period of 2022.

According to preliminary data, in April 2024 the prices of construction and assembly production in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year increased by 7.1%, as well as in comparison with March 2024 by 0.5%.
