Foreign trade turnover in the January – July this year according to exports at current prices amounted to PLN 568.8 bn, while imports amounted to PLN 543.6 bn.

In the second quarter of 2020, the producer prices for business services decreased by 0.4% compared to the previous quarter, and in comparison to the second quarter of 2019, they increased by 1.2%

24,040 persons injured in accidents at work were reported in the first half of 2020, by 29.9% fewer than in the same period of 2019. The number of injured persons per 1,000 employed persons (the incidence rate) also decreased from 2.54 to 1.77 respectively.

In the second quarter of 2019, there was an increase in the number of employed persons of over 2%, and in 2020, a decrease in the number of employed persons of almost 3%.

At the end of the second quarter of 2020, the number of job vacancies in Poland, in entities of the national economy or in their local units employing at least 1 person, was 81.4 thousand and was 4.9 thousand or 6.4% higher than at the end of the first quarter of 2020. As compared to the end of the second quarter of 2019, the number of vacancies was lower by 70.4 thousand or 46.4%. At the end of the second quarter of 2020, there were still 17.0 thousand unfilled newly created jobs.

Consumer prices according to the flash estimate in August 2020, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 2,9% (price index 102,9), and as related to the previous month decreased by 0,1% (price index 99,9).

Gross domestic product (GDP) in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was lower by 8.2% year-on-year comparison against the growth of 4.6 % in the correspording quarter of 2019 (constant average prices of the previous year).
