n the first four months of 2021, there were more dwellings completed than the year before. The number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project as well as dwellings in which construction has begun also increased.

Price index of construction and assembly production in the first quarter of 2021 as compared to the fourth quarter of 2020 increased by 0.7%.

At the end of 2020, there were 511 indoor cinemas operating in Poland (2.3% less than in 2019). In 2020, 19.5 million viewers watched films during 1.1 million screenings in indoor cinemas. During this year in Poland, 277 films (intended for cinema and television screenings) were produced.

In 2020, fewer work permits for foreigners were issued in Poland than in the previous year. The situation was different in the years 2015–2019, when a systematic increase in the number of permits issued was observed in Poland. In the analysed year, 406.5 thousand work permits for foreigners were issued in Poland. There were 38.2 thousand fewer of them than in 2019, but their number increased by 340.7 thousand compared to 2015. They were still most often issued to Ukrainian citizens.

In May 2021, there was a significant improvement in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -14.6a which was by 7.9 p.p. higher in relation to last month.

In April 2021, average paid employment in enterprise sector was higher by 0.9% y/y and amounted to 6316.9 thousand, while average wages and salaries were higher by 9.9% y/y and amounted to 5805.72 PLN (gross).

Procurement prices of basic agricultural products increased in April 2021 in comparison with the previous month (by 0.7%) as well as while compared to the corresponding month of last year (by 10.9%).
