In February 2021, there was an improvement in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -25.2a which was by 0.1 p.p. lower in relation to last month.

In January 2021, average paid employment in enterprise sector was lower by 2.0% y/y and amounted to 6314.1 thousand, while average wages and salaries were higher by 4.8% y/y and amounted to 5536.80 PLN (gross).

Price index of consumer goods and services in January 2021 as related to December 2020 amounted to 101.2 (price increase of 1.2%).

According to preliminary data, in January 2021 consumer prices increased by 2,7% compared with the corresponding month of the previous year. As related to the previous month consumer prices increased by 1,2%.

Foreign trade turnover after twelve months of 2020 according to temporary data in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 1051.9 bn, while in imports - PLN 998.3 bn.

According to the flash estimate, gross domestic product (GDP) in volume terms seasonally unadjusted was lower by 2.8% in the 4th quarter of 2020 year-to-year against 3.6% increase in the corresponding period of 2019.
