43,600 persons injured in accidents at work were reported in January-September 2021, by 8.6% more than in January-September 2020. The number of injured persons per 1,000 employed persons (the incidence rate) also increased from 2.96 to 3.23.

The Labour Demand Survey is conducted using the representative method on a quarterly ba-sis. According to the scope of the survey, it covers notional economy entities and their local units employing at least 1 person. The survey shows that at the end of the third quarter of 2021, the number of occupied jobs was almost the same as at the end of the third quarter of 2020.

At the end of the third quarter of 2021, there were 153.5 thousand job vacancies, 68.5% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The job vacancy rate was 1.25%. In the third quarter of 2021, there were 2.3 newly created jobs per liquidated job.

Thirteen years after Poland regained independence, on December 9, 1931, on the basis of the Act of October 14, 1931, the second general population census was carried out. By order of the Council of Ministers of September 2, 1931, its scope, organization, legal principles, duties and tasks of the census services were determined.

Prof. dr hab. Jan Kordos

We were saddened by the death of prof. Jan Kordos (1930-2021), an outstanding statistician, former vice-president of the #StatisticsPoland. The funeral will be held on 9th December at 1 pm in the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Opaczewska Street in Warsaw.

Statistics in focus Occupancy of tourist accommodation establish ments in Poland in August and September 2021

In August 2021, 3.9 million tourists were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments and 12.7 million overnight stays were provided for them. Compared to August 2020, it was more by 20.1% and 18.8% respectively. An increase in the number of tourists was also recorded in September 2021, when the number of tourists accommodated was 36.5% higher and the number of overnight stays provided 28.1% higher.

The publication shows changes occurring on Polish labour market as well as essential information on labour market in EU countries.
