According to preliminary data construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out domestically by construction enterprises employing more than 9 persons was in December 2023 by 14.0% higher than in the same period of 2022 (a decrease of 0.9% in the corresponding period of 2022) and by 28.7% higher compared to November 2023 (an increase of 17.2% in the corresponding period of 2022).

Procurement prices of basic agricultural products decreased in December 2023 in comparison with the previous month (by 1.0%) as well as while compared to the corresponding period of the last year (by 19.6%).

In December 2023, the average paid employment in the enterprise sector compared with December 2022 was lower by 0.1% and amounted to 6 495.3 thousand full-time equivalent employees. Compared to the previous month, the average paid employment was recorded at a similar level. The average monthly wage and salary in the enterprise sector in December 2023 compared with December 2022 increased nominally by 9.6% and amounted to PLN 8 032.96 gross. Compared with November 2023, the average monthly gross wage and salary increased nominally by 4.7%.

In 2023, there were less dwellings completed than the year before. The number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project as well as dwellings in which construction has begun also decreased.

In January the assessments of general business climate indicator (both seasonally and non-seasonally adjusted) in most of presented kinds of activities are at a higher or similar level as compared to the ones presented in December. In all areas, the indicator is below the long-term mean . In majority of studied areas, month-to-month level of "diagnostic" as well as "forecasting" components improves or does not change.

According to preliminary data, in December 2023 the prices of construction and assembly production in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year increased by 7.5%, as well as in comparison with November 2023 by 0.3%.

According to preliminary data, the prices of sold production of industry in December 2023 decreased compared to November 2023 by – 0.8%, as well as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year - by 6.4%.

On the last day of March 2023, there were 2 262.9 thousand persons performing work under contracts of mandate and related contracts in Poland. Of these, 967.9 thousand were simultaneously performing work qualifying them as employed persons in the national economy.
