Procurement prices of basic agricultural products decreased in May 2026 both in comparison with the previous month (by 0.9%) and compared to the corresponding period of 2025 (by 16.2%).

In May 2026 retail sales at constant prices were by 3.0% higher than the year before (against an increase of 4.4% in May 2025). Compared with April 2026, there was a decrease by 1.7% in retail sales. In the period of January-May 2026 sales increased y/y by 2.9% (against an increase by 3.5% in the corresponding period of 2025).

In May 2026, the average paid employment in the enterprise sector was 0.1% lower than in April this year and 0.9% lower than in May 2025.

According to preliminary data, in May 2026 the prices of construction and assembly production increased both compared to May 2025 (by 5.5%), as well as to April 2026 (by 0.2%).

In the period January–May 2026, 0.5% less dwellings were completed compared to the same period last year. The number of dwellings in which construction began also decreased (by 0.2%), whereas the number of dwellings for which permits were granted or which have been registered with a construction project increased by 16.3%.

According to preliminary data, the prices of sold production of industry in May 2026 increased compared to May 2025 – by 2.4%, and compared to the previous month, they remained at a level similar to those recorded in April this year.

According to preliminary data construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out domestically was in May 2026 higher by 3.9% an annual. Compared to April 2026 an increse was noted by 7.9%.

Compared to the previous month, in June 2026, general business climate indicators for most of presented types of activity point at stabilisation or deterioration of the economy. The most significant decline is noted in financial and insurance activities section, while the biggest improvement is observed in accommodation and food service activities section.

In May 2026, sold production of industry was by 4.1% higher than in May 2025 (when a similar increase of 4.0% was recorded), whereas in comparison with April 2026, it decreased by 0.8%. In the period January-May of 2026, sold production of industry was by 3.1% higher than in the corresponding period of 2025 (which saw an increase by 1.6%).

According to preliminary data, the average paid employment in the national economy in 2025 was 11 040.9 thousand full-time equivalents and remained at a similar level compared with the previous year.
