In each of presented kinds of activities general business climate indicator in November is at a lower level than in the previous month. Only in information and communication section the indicator is positive. Deterioration of “forecast” components is observed in all research areas, whereas worsening of “diagnostic” ones is reported in most areas.

In November 2020, there was a deterioration in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -29.2a which was by 9.2 p.p. lower in relation to last month.

In October 2020, average paid employment in enterprise sector was lower by 1.0% y/y and amounted to 6318.3 thousand, while average gross wages and salaries were higher by 4.7% y/y and amounted to 5458.88 PLN.

In July and August 2020, 1.5 million tourists were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments located in coastal areas, and 7.3 million overnight stays were provided for them. Compared to the same period last year, the number of tourists was 14.3% lower, and the number of overnight stays was 18.9% lower.

According to the flash estimate, gross domestic product (GDP) in volume terms seasonally unadjusted was lower by 1.6% in the 3rd quarter of 2020 year-to-year against 4.4% increase in the corresponding period of 2019.

In July 2020, 2.7 million tourists were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments and 9.1 million overnight stays were provided for them. Compared to July 2019, this was lower by 33.2% and 31.1% respectively. Less tourist traffic was also recorded in August 2020, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, when the number of persons accommodated was lower by about 25.7% and the number of overnight stays by 20.6%.

In September 2020 entities having 50 or more persons employed and participating in the monthly survey of production of industrial products, on voluntary basis additionally reported production of 5 090 482 face masks used in medicine and 11 237 711 other protective face masks.
