Short-term analysis of phenomena and processes in the national economy, including monthly, quarterly and annual information, among others, on the labour market, wages and salaries, prices, basic areas of the national economy (agriculture, industry, construction, the domestic market), balance of payments and foreign trade.

In December 2020 entities having 50 or more persons employed and participating in the monthly survey of production of industrial products, on voluntary basis additionally reported production of 6 562 162 face masks used in medicine and 14 665 051 other protective face masks.

Apart from financial and insurance activities section, in other presented kinds of activities general business climate indicator in January is at a higher level than in the previous month. However, in most of them the indicator is still negative.

In January 2021, there was an improvement in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -25.1 which was by 0.2 p.p. lower in relation to last month.

In December 2020, average paid employment in enterprise sector was lower by 1.0% y/y and amounted to 6329.0 thousand, while average gross wages and salaries were higher by 6.6% y/y and amounted to 5973.75 PLN.

In October 2020, 1.4 million tourists were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments and 3.7 million overnight stays were provided for them. Compared to October 2019, it was less by 54.4% and 46.8% respectively.
