In July general business climate indicator is less negative than in June in most of presented kinds of activities. In information and communication sector it is even slightly positive, whereas the most pessimistic assessments are reported by companies operating in the field of accommodation and food service activities. Improvement is observed both in assessments (“diagnosis”) and expectations (“forecast”).

In June 2020, average paid employment in enterprise sector was lower by 3.3% y/y and amounted to 6185.8 thousand, while average gross wages and salaries were higher by 3.6% y/y and amounted to 5286.00 PLN.

In April this year, 86.4 thousand tourists were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments and 326.2 thousand overnight stays were provided for them.

In the first two months of the pandemic, i.e. in March and April 2020, the estimated number of foreigners staying in Poland fell by 223 thousand, which represents a decline by 10.1% from the figure at the end of February.

In May 2020 entities having 50 or more persons employed and participating in the monthly survey of production of industrial products, on voluntary basis additionally reported production of 2 044 715 face masks used in medicine and 22 149 899 other protective face masks.

In 1st quarter of 2020, financial results of cultural institutions were higher than those achieved in comparable period of the previous year. Total revenues increased by 3.5% and total costs by 3.0%. Investment outlays increased by 18.0%.

In the first three months of 2020, there was a decrease in the total number of tourists accom-modated in accommodation establishments - by 17.3%, and in the number of overnight stays - by 13.6%, compared to the first quarter of 2019. At the same time, a decrease in the number of foreign tourists by 21.8% was recorded.
