Statistics in focus Average paid employment and average gross wages and salaries in enterprise sector in December 2021

In December 2021, average paid employment in the enterprise sector was higher by 0.5% y/y and amounted to 6361.6 thousand full-time jobs. In comparison to the previous month average paid employment remained at the similar level (100.0%). Average gross wages and salaries in December 2021 were higher by 11.2% y/y and amounted to 6644.39 PLN. In comparison to November 2021 average gross wages and salaries increased by 10.3%.

The Labour Demand Survey is conducted using the representative method on a quarterly ba-sis. According to the scope of the survey, it covers notional economy entities and their local units employing at least 1 person. The survey shows that at the end of the third quarter of 2021, the number of occupied jobs was almost the same as at the end of the third quarter of 2020.

At the end of the third quarter of 2021, there were 153.5 thousand job vacancies, 68.5% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The job vacancy rate was 1.25%. In the third quarter of 2021, there were 2.3 newly created jobs per liquidated job.

In most of presented kinds of activities general business climate indicator in November is at a lower level than in the previous month. In the majority of researched areas deterioration of “forecast” components has been reported, whereas “diagnostic” ones do not change. The most positive1 indicator is noted by two sections – financial and insurance activities as well as information and communication, while the most pessimistic one by entities representing accommodation and food service activities section.
