In June 2021 entities having 50 or more persons employed and participating in the monthly survey of production of industrial products, reported production of 5 011 412 face masks used in medicine and 6 300 390 other protective face masks.

Short-term analysis of phenomena and processes taking place, among others, in the area of the labour market, wages and salaries, prices, basic areas of the national economy (agriculture, industry, construction, domestic market), transport and foreign trade, as well as the situation in selected countries of the world.

In most of presented kinds of activities general business climate indicator in July is at a similar level as in the previous month. In the majority of researched areas improvement of “diagnostic” components has been reported, whereas “forecast” ones do not change or deteriorate.

The Yearbook contains the basic information on the numbers and structure of the population of Poland in 2020, and retrospective data prepared on the basis of population summaries and data on vital statistics (characteristics of new marriages, adjudged divorces and separations, births and deaths), as well as lifespan. Moreover, in the yearbook information about internal and international population migrations, and a short version of the international comparison was presented.

In June 2021, average paid employment in enterprise sector was higher by 2.8% y/y and amounted to 6359.3 thousand, while average wages and salaries were higher by 9.8% y/y and amounted to 5802.42 PLN (gross).

In 2020, there were 14,245 sports clubs and 67 Polish sports associations operating in Poland. Compared to 2018, the number of sports clubs decreased by over 2,000.

As of the end of 2020, there were 7,782 public libraries, including 5,169 library branches. Public libraries carried 873 branches for children and youths and 867 libraries points. During the year 4,919.3 thousand readers borrowed 77.5 million volumes of collection.

The results of the labour force survey (LFS) presenting the average data for the quarter indicate that in the first quarter of 2021, economically active persons accounted for 57.3% of the population aged 15-89 years.

In the first quarter of 2021 financial results of cultural institutions were lower compared to results in the same quarter of the previous year. Total revenues decreased by 9.4% and total costs by 8.8%. Investment outlays decreased by 17.4%.
