Occupancy of tourist accommodation establishments in the first quarter of 2021

In the first three months of 2021, there was a decrease in the total number of tourists accommodated in accommodation establishments – by 71.9%, and in the number of overnight stays – by 72.8%, compared to the first quarter of 2020. At the same time, a decrease in the number of foreign tourists by 87.9% was recorded.
At the beginning of 2021, restrictions on the operation of tourist accommodation establishments introduced from mid-March 2020 in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic were still in force in Poland. The scope of these restrictions was modified depending on the current epidemiological situation.
