Pig population as of June 2025

According to preliminary data, the population of pigs[1] in June 2025 was 9 123.5 thousand heads showing a decrease of 0.1% compared to the analogical period last year. The reduction in numbers occurred in the pigs, from 20 kg to less than 50 kg and breeding pigs 50 kg and over.

At the beginning of June 2025, the pig population amounted to 9 123.5 thousand heads and was lower by 8.5 thousand heads (by 0.1%) than the state recorded in the analogical period of 2024, and compared with the number of pigs in December 2024 – higher by 45.3 thousands heads, i.e. by 0.5%.

- all holdings of legal persons and unincorporated entities,

- selected individual holdings (30 thousand holdings - sample of approximately 2.0%).
