In April 2026, consumer sentiment moods deteriorated, both regarding the current and future situation (compared to the previous month). The current consumer confidence in-dicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was minus 14.1 which was by 1.9 lower in relation to last month.

In February 2026 retail sales at constant prices were by 5.0% higher than the year before (against a decrease of 0.5% in February 2025). Compared with January 2026, there was a decrease by 5.6% in retail sales. In the period of January-February 2026 sales increased y/y by 3.8% (against an increase by 2.0% in the corresponding period of 2025).

At the end of 2025, in foster care there were 78.3 thousand children, including 60.7 thousand in family foster care and 17.5 thousand in institutional foster care. Compared with the end of 2024, the number of children in foster care increased by 1 thousand (1.3%).

Procurement prices of basic agricultural products increased in March 2026 in comparison with the previous month (by 1.1%), while the prices decreased compared to the corresponding period of 2025 (by 11.5%).
